On the recent trip to North Carolina we saw many, many barns with lovely Barn Quilts gracing them.  I love the look of a  pop of color attached above the door or to the side of a barn or shed.  They are wonderful pieces of Folk Art.  I think we should make some soon for our barns and sheds.  Start thinking about where you can put yours.

A Set of Cute Birds

We painted Bold Expressive Portraits last night at The Studio and everyone did a FABULOUS job.

Sunset over the Valley, acrylic on canvas, 11″x14″, is one I painted as a demo at the Retreat last week.  I think we will be doing it soon as a Paint Party at The Studio.

While visiting the Biltmore we also went to Antler Hill Village on the property and of course, my favorite thing there was the bronze of Cornelia and Cedric….the Vanderbilt daughter and her dog.  There was also a few pieces of Chihuly there.

We made the trip to Asheville to see Chihuly at the Biltmore.

 

It was amazing!

Even though the weather was a little overcast and even misting part of the time it was still amazing to see…both in the day and the evening.  Read more about the exhibit here.
