Crochet the Outlander Cowl

As a big fan of Outlander I love seeing the costumes.  And I am so glad to see the knit pieces.  While it’s not knitted I came up with a similar cowl to Claire’s.  And I love it!  We will set up a class for this one soon.

Crochet a Star Blanket

Granny Squares…Expanded!

When we think of Granny… Squares we think of the old-timey style that we saw at out grandparents homes…multiple colors…generally bordered with black or cream.  They still hold up today.  I love the traditional look of them…but there is more that can be done with the granny square stitch than just a square.  At our class on November 6th we will learn to make the traditional Granny Square but we will also learn how to apply that stitch to a Granny Stripe, a Granny Scarf, and even more.  Click here to register and join us to learn how.

Granny squares in White It’s time to learn how to do more than just chain stitch.  Let’s put it together and make something.  These are granny squares…one of the staples of crochet.  Many, many things can be made with granny squares….blankets, jackets, baskets, etc.  We will have a class on November 6th so you can add this design to your repertoire of stitches. Crochet Compared

20180204_1835531726311175.jpgWe had a great crochet class this afternoon.  It was cold and rainy outside which is the perfect weather for crochet!  We learned the pattern for an asymmetrical scarf. Here are three different ones, using different weights of yarn but the same basic pattern.  (The borders are different).

More with the New Yarn

I like the feel of this new yarn.  It works up really nice and the colors are beautiful.  The new scarf turned out great….the weight is perfect.  And the shawl I started earlier in the week is done.  You can see more about it here.
