Art Camp yesterday had us painting our version of Claude Monet’s , (1840-1926) “Lilac Irises”, painted in 1914-17.
The young artists made terrific renditions of Monet’s work. He would be proud!

We continued to study Manet at Art Camp yesterday. This time it was his still life – Asparagus.
The young artists made it look easy as they created their versions of Manet’s original.

Yesterday we had the first day of Art Camp. With 7 fabulous young artists working hard all morning they created their version of Edouard Manet’s (1832-1883) “Pinks and Clematis in a Crystal Vase”, oil on canvas 22″x14″, painted in 1882 in Paris and currently on display at Musée d’Orsay, Paris, France.
I think their versions look GREAT! How about you?

Maybe if we talk about Summer Art Camp all the bad weather will go away and Spring will arrive. Well, maybe not but at least it gives us something to look forward to! The schedule for this summers Art Camp is set. You can Flyer for Kids Summer Art Camp Final 2014.
This year we are adding a session where we will paint from the students photos: their pet, their home, etc. More information is coming as we get closer to the date but we wanted you to have the schedule now so you can start making plans. Hope to see your young artist this summer at one of the following sessions:
June 30 – July 1, 2014 Famous Painters (Warhol & Manet)
August 11 – 12, 2014 Post-Impressionists ( Matisse & Van Gogh)
Ages 8 – 13 (9 a.m. – Noon) $150 per session
June 23 – 26, 2014 – Impressionists (Monet, Manet, Renoir)
July 7 – 10, 2014 – Famous Painters (Matisse, Cezanne, Warhol)
July 21 – 24, 2014 – Local Flavor & Paint Your Own Pet Portrait and House
August 4 – 7, 2014 – Famous Painters (Cassett, Van Gogh, Manet)
Ages 14 – 18 (9 a.m. – Noon) $75 per session
July 17 – 18, 2014 – Paint from your own photos (Pets, House, or Favorite Scene)

The boys painted these wonderful “Abstract Christmas Trees” in class yesterday. Fun! Great job guys. Next week will be the last Kids Painting Class of 2013. We wrapped up the last day of Art Camp with Van Gogh’s Chair. The young artists painted a large version and did a fabulous job. This was a delightful group of kids who are really good painters.

Yesterday’s Art Campers painted a beautiful Van Gogh painting. We learned more about color mixing and blending colors. GREAT JOB!
