Last week Dianne brought her grandson Ryan who was visiting for the week to paint with her at class. He did a great job. He had been to The Studio in November of 2022 when he painted a picture of Lincoln. He told me he had that painting hanging in his bedroom at home. Take a look below at how Ryan has grown in the last 2 1/2 years!

We hold Open Studio every Friday from 10-1 at The Studio where artists can come and work on projects along with other painters….sharing ideas, stories and fun! From time to time I have a private student lesson during that time. This past Friday McKenzie, one of my former art campers, came to paint a beautiful landscape. McKenzie is just 10 years old….didn’t she do a great job???!!!! She loves color mixing and listens closely to instructions. Wonderful painting McKenzie! And Donna came last week to our Famous Painters session where we are recreating some of Edouard Manet’s final paintings…..all florals. She came in Friday during Open Studio to complete hers. It looks awesome…..and while it was a challenge she mastered it. Great work Donna! Our next Famous Painter comes up soon. Check it out here. https://thestudio-104116.square.site/product/jul-27th-manet-s-last-flowers-series/5T43BS3YQWQ4WCS3DHJHQJBT?cs=true&cst=custom

This is my Scrappy Bear Paw quilt. If you are a quilter you know how many scraps accumulate. I have tubs and baskets full! The good news is that scrappy quilts are some of my favorites so I am always working up scrappy designs. This is one I just got back from the longarmer, Pat Burnham. She did an awesome job with it. Now off to make another scrappy quilt. 🙂

We had our first Manet’s Last Flowers Paint Party last Sunday and what a great job everyone did. This is one of the most difficult Famous Painters selections we have ever done. When they sometimes look easy, they can be a real challenge. These painters were up to it though. Nice work! Now get ready for the next one. Click here for more info and to register. And yes, this one will be easier. https://thestudio-104116.square.site/product/jul-27th-manet-s-last-flowers-series/5T43BS3YQWQ4WCS3DHJHQJBT?cs=true&cst=custom
