The kid’s painted these red barns….although some changed them to dog houses at class this week. LOL
A few weeks ago we painted down by Happy Creek en plein air (outside in open air). It was a fun morning and I got a good start to a little landscape. (
We’ve added a new Red, White and Blue Garden Pole to mix. It’s my favorite.
We were honored to be asked to be part of the “Spotlight on Women” coming up this Thursday at 6 pm at Samuel’s Public Library and sponsored by the Front Royal Women’s Resource Center. We hope you will attend. The annual Spotlight Program highlights the achievements of women in our community and also supports The Front Royal Women’s Resource Center mission of empowering women to change their world. This year’s program, Main Street Women of Warren County, will give voice to the growing number of women business leaders in our community who make Front Royal a better place to live.
In my Facebook Memory feed this morning this popped up from five years ago on a trip I took to the National Gallery. I always stop in to see this Mary Cassatt painting, “Little Girl in Blue Armchair” from 1878 because the pup in it looks exactly like Lincoln! Don’t you think? In reality it is a Brussels Griffon but I still think Lincoln looks like it.
Lincoln and I spent the day at Shenandoah National Park at the “Painting in the Park Seminar: Nature as a Starting Place” with Kevin H. Adams. Kevin was the 2017 Artist in Residence for the park. (
Ever since we lost Jed about 6 weeks ago, Lincoln has been going to work with me at The Studio. Lincoln is 10 years old and had never been alone so the transition to being an only dog has been difficult for him. The depression has been horrible. But he does perk up on Wednesdays when he goes to class. He likes the ladies at the morning adult class and he especially enjoys all the attention he gets at the afternoon kid’s class but he just waits for the evening adult class.
The kids painted this nice beach scene at class yesterday. Nice work!
