Today would have been my mom’s 69th birthday. We lost her in 1994 of cancer at the young age of 52.
She was a beautiful person.
You can see by the teddy bears on her shirt in this photo that she loved kids and was a kindergarten teacher. She loved it!
I recently went through old photos and scanned a bunch of them (thanks Carol for the scanner!). So I decided to post several of Mama today, hopefully in chronological order.
She was a wonderful pianist and taught kids after school.
Here are some other photos of her over the years, most with family members, including me.
I miss her everyday!
I was moved by this wonderful tribute to your mother, Kelly. She passed way too soon, but the best part of her lives on in you and other lives she touched.
Elizabeth
Thanks Elizabeth.
Mrs. Barbara, my dear cousin, was a most prim & proper woman, raised in “the old school way” from the 50’s – 60’s. She retained her dignity and perseverance while waging the good fight. The pain she experienced was multiplied knowing her loss would leave such a deep gaping space in those she loved & those who loved her. Like her Mother, she was a lady until the end. Her legacy & love for the children she influenced will live on in their hearts, always.
Thanks for the nice comments and emails to me about my mama. She was very special.
She was lovely. I know how you feel. I really miss my mom. She lived very much like Lucy in I Love Lucy, so life hasn’t been the same since I lost her. I think your post is a good tribute to her.
Beautiful pictures of your Mom and you all. She was a beautiful & wonderful lady, teacher and mother.
