Another group of quilters are putting their sampler quilts together using the Quilt as You Go method. Yesterday Sierra and Connie got some of theirs done. I can’t wait to see the rest of it together. I love Sampler Quilts….and these are beautiful! Nice job ladies.
I just completed this jelly roll quilt a week or so ago with the same basic design as the one I did a few months ago. (See it here.) I love the design and had a beautiful jelly roll that I wanted to use. This fabric is Island Batik’s “Paisley Got Mod”. I think the colors are so nice together. This is a fun quilt to make and so easy. And yes, this one is a Quilt as You Go!
Pat and Janet are making great progress on their Row Quilts. Yesterday they worked on a Sawtooth Variation. They look great! I can’t wait to see these quilts put together. They are going to be fabulous!
Just completed the “Block in the Row” quilt that I started down at the river last week. It was fun one to make and went pretty fast as a Quilt as You Go project. Now on to the next one….
Sandy is Lincoln’s sitter. She has been with us even before Lincoln so she has been a family friend for a very long time. Recently she was admiring a specialty quilt that I made for another friend and I told her I would make one for her that featured something she loved. Did I mention that Sandy is an amazing photograper? Well, she is. So I wanted to make her quilt with a camera theme. I asked her to send me some photographs she had taken….some of her favorites. Having received them I started laying out a design that would include a camera and film and this is what I came up with. The camera and film roll are applique. The black and white film is pieced fabric made to look like film. I printed Sandy’s photos on EQ8 Satin Printable Fabric Sheets. The border fabric with cameras I got through Joann’s. This quilt took way more time in planning than I anticipated but I was happy with the results. And I think Sandy liked it!
Lincoln wasn’t happy that I didn’t let him jump up on this quilt for the photo so he jumped up in the window seat and stuck his tongue out at me. LOL! I love this jelly roll quilt. I have been trying to alter some jelly roll patterns to make them into Quilt as You Go patterns and have done several over the last month but this is by far my favorite. I love a scrappy look in a quilt and I just adore this group of fabrics. I used “Flea Market by Lori Holt” for Riley Blake Designs jelly roll. It is just perfect for this quilt. We have an upcoming Jelly Roll class at The Studio with two seats left. Check it out here if you are interested in learning what to do with those amazing jelly rolls.
Another group of quilters has completed the final two blocks in our Sampler Quilt class. These ladies finished the Flower Basket and the Virginia Star, the last two blocks for our quilt. At our next class they will begin putting their quilts together. They are going to be awesome!
I finally finished the Super Nova quilt. It took a while to piece and even longer to quilt. But I really love it….and so does Lincoln! He couldn’t wait to jump up on check it out.
I finished up the Layer Cake Custard Quilt when I got back from the retreat. I found the pattern at The Fat Quarter Shop and used Adventure by Elizabeth Hartman for Robert Kaufman Fabrics, a layer cake that I had in my stash as well as a batik backing I had been holding on to for just the right project. It’s a Quilt as You Go project.
Just completed this “Memory Quilt” made from old flannel shirts. Start gathering up your items and we will have a class soon so you can make your Memory Quilts.
