We had a small but enthusiastic group who bravely painted the Bonnard Poppies last night at The Studio. Nice work everyone! It wasn’t as hard as we thought it would be. And they are beautiful. The next Famous Painter Party will be Tuesday, September 26th at 6 pm. Maybe a Monet?

We continue with our Famous Painter Paint Party series at The Studio next Tuesday featuring a painting by Post Impressionist Pierre Bonnard. While visiting the Baltimore Museum of Art this week we got to see some of the permanent collection including these two wonderful paintings….Bonnard’s Luncheon Table and O’Keeffe’s Pink Tulip. Included here are the descriptions on display by the works.

Continuing with my visit to The Phillips Collection last week I saw several paintings by Pierre Bonnard (1867-1947), an artist that I have long admired. You don’t see as much of his work as some of the other post-impressionists but when you do you have to stop to admire them. Here are three good examples.
