Three of my students finished their paintings this past week.  And boy did they do a great job.  Ethan made this terrific kite painting and Jacob did this wonderful open book painting in the Kids Class.  Kids ages 7-12 paint each Thursday from 4:15-5:15.  And we would love to have new painters join us.

Logan, who started in the Kids Class several years ago and now has moved to the adult class, completed this wonderful “Enterprise” painting.  Great job Logan with nice vision.  You are doing super in the Adult Class!

I love helping my students create beautiful paintings each week in class.  For those who don’t know in our weekly art classes each student paints whatever subject matter they prefer and I help each person individually instead of everyone painting the same thing as we do at the Paint Parties.  This allows each painter to have something they really want when they complete a painting rather than just the subjects that I select.

Here are a couple of really nice ones that Gretchen and Kathy completed this past week.  Great job!!!

P1010870 P1010868If you recall, I had an interesting commission before Christmas from a gentleman to paint three paintings for his family of scenes from North Carolina where they spent time as kids and that had meaning for them.  (See the posts for those paintings here, 2nd one here, and the last here.)  I got the nicest email from him this past week and he gave me permission to share it:

“I just got back from visiting my family in North Carolina and thought you would like to see us  (me, my brothers and my 97-year-old Mother) all holding our paintings. My youngest brother has promised to put them in rustic frames of Rhododendron he is making.  Thanks again.”
What a treat to hear this!  Thanks Worth.
