I was thrilled to see at The Barnes Collection that Dr. Barnes hung his art the same way I do…ceiling to floor…mixing artists and styles.  He felt that there was much to be learned by having paintings and styles side by side to study them.  I have long felt the same way.

I hang my art along with other artists that I have collected.  It helps me to improve my own work.

I think that living with art surrounding every day help me helps me to see what I want to become as an artist.

The final day of the final week of Art Camp this summer saw us finishing our Warhol Pop Art paintings.  Half of the group  painted the Warhol Eagle and the other half painted a flamingo in the pop art style of Warhol.

We had a fabulous week of painting.  And the favorite part of every art camp week for the kids is the Artist Trading Cards.

Each young artist paints a small painting, the size of a trading card, and then exchanges them with their fellow artists.  It’s a nice memento of their week with new friends.
