We have had a visitor staying with us this week.

DAISY!  She is a little Westie that just turned one year old.

What fun she has been.  She has stirred Lincoln up and Jed has just tried to steer clear of the craziness.  Since she is just a puppy she has gotten into a lot of “things” this week and been very lively.  🙂

It has been VERY cold this week so I put one of Mamie’s sweater’s on Daisy but it was a little large.  That just meant one thing – Daisy needed a sweater made just for her!  (Here is the pattern for the dog sweater.  It is written for a dog the size of Lincoln but you can adjust it for larger or smaller dogs.)

So I made this green sweater using bulky yarn.  And of course, we needed to decorate it with a daisy – her signature flower.  I think she looks adorable.

Daisy goes home this eveningg and we will miss her terribly.  But the good news is that she just lives a few doors down the street so I am hoping I can convince her mom that she needs to come back often for more adventures.  What do you think?

Since I started posting photos of my “kids” in their crocheted sweaters I have been asked to post the pattern.  The problem has been that I don’t use a pattern.  I just crochet and rip out and  crochet again until I get it to work.  But after encouragement I have written down a pattern for Lincoln’s Sweater. One thing to note is this is for a boy sweater where  there is space left open under the belly at the back end to leave room for their pee-pee.  Notice on Mamie’s (girls) sweater the sweater is solid all the way to the back.  Keep in mind I am not a pattern writer.  This is very basic.  Make turns at end like you normally would when crocheting.

Lincoln in his Orange Sweater

Lincoln in his Orange Sweater

The last few days I have been spending time crocheting again.  When it’s cold outside I love to do that and it has been COLD!  So cold in fact that we didn’t go to the dog park yesterday which is unusual for my crowd.  They love it there but when it’s really cold out I don’t love it so much.  And when it’s below freezing I make my “kids” wear their sweaters (or jackets) when we go out for very long.  Lincoln just got a new sweater yesterday.  It’s bright orange.  Mamie and Jed each had two or three sweaters that fit well but Lincoln only had one so it was time to increase his wardrobe.  You can see more sweaters here and here
