The 1st Saturday Paint Party was FUN yesterday. We painted our pet’s portrait. They all turned out fabulous! It was a fun evening with lots of wonderful snacks and lots of laughing. Thanks for the fun party girls. And your paintings are vibrant and gorgeous! Great job!

I love watching students finish paintings that they are working on in class. Jeff paints with us when he is in town and he just completed this wonderful sunflower painting as a Christmas gift. It turned out great and I know they will be thrilled to receive such a wonderful surprise.
You may know Jeff as Breezy’s dad. Breeze comes to class to and we love it when she does. Here’s an old picture of Breeze posing with the kids at art camp one summer. The boys painted these wonderful “Abstract Christmas Trees” in class yesterday. Fun! Great job guys. Next week will be the last Kids Painting Class of 2013. The December Paint Party featured a fun snow painting and everyone did a terrific job! What a fun way to spend the afternoon. Great job girls!
And the HOLIDAY ART MARKET at Griffin Tavern has been rescheduled from today to next Saturday due to snow and ice. Be sure to come next Saturday from 1 -4.

We did a holiday painting yesterday in kid’s class. Their tree limbs with holiday ornaments turned out so good. Fabulous everyone! (Remember kids class is every Thursday at 4:15 for kids ages 7-13. Register your young artist today for next weeks class.)
And as a bonus, Blaze came by class with his kids. 🙂

Our art class this week was displaced from our normal meeting space but we still had great classes. Cathy worked on a painting of a dog she once had – a Poodle! Good job Cathy.

This week Jacob and Ethan made layered collages in art class. We used all sorts of interesting things to build the art from buttons and ribbon to old magnets and plastic forks. They turned out great. Good job guys. Very creative.

A few weeks ago I took a photo of the Shenandoah River while walking down the path to the dog park. It was the perfect reference photo for a landscape painting for the kids class this week. I had four boys….what a challenge. 🙂 They made beautiful paintings of our lovely fall landscape here in the Shenandoah Valley. Great job!

Joy is one of my Thursday students that often tells people that she was scared to come to her first art class. But then she will reassure them that she is glad she did because she loves the paintings she is creating as well as the fellowship with her fellow students. Great job Joy! We are glad you joined us.
