Yesterday at Art Camp we discussed Pierre-Auguste Renoir and recreated one of his beautiful paintings. It was quite the challenge but these young painters went for it and did an excellent job. We learn so much by looking at these amazing historical pieces and trying to do the same type of work. And each day we build on what we learned the day before. These kids are to be commended for being fearless. There is nothing they won’t try on canvas. Great work everyone!!!! For more information on the rest of the summer’s schedule click here.

We had a great start to Art Camp 4 yesterday with 7 enthusiastic painters creating Georgia O’Keeffe’s Peach with Glass. Beautiful!!!!! There are a few more camp sessions to come. Be sure to register your young artist to come paint with us. Check it out here.

We have some great events coming up at The Studio. Be sure to take a look…..paint parties, art camp for kids, and much more. Join us soon. Click here to see what’s coming up. And don’t forget to “Like” our new page on Facebook. The old one is still there but not available as the hacker hijacked it and we can’t make changes to it. So like the new page to keep following The Studio events. The new page is this one. And thanks for supporting The Studio!

Sometimes at Art Camp we paint larger canvases….and an artist just has to get on top of it to get it done! We have much more Art Camp to come this summer so if you haven’t registered your young artist check it out now and get them involved. It is so much fun plus they learn about color mixing, composition and a variety of artists. Click here to see what else we have this summer.

You have to wonder why people do mean things to small businesses. Last week The Studio Facebook page was hijacked. They knew what they were doing. They changed the email contact on the page so that when you request to reset the password the code for the reset goes to the hackers email. The saddest part of the whole situation is that you can NOT contact anyone at FB for help. There is a form they have you fill out and then a pop up says they will respond shortly but it’s been a week and no response….no help. A week ago we had over 2600 people who could see what was going on at The Studio. Now we had to set up a new page and we have 200 followers. Why would anyone do that to a small business. It’s hard enough to run a small business in this day and time but to have someone do this for no reason is just beyond understanding. We are asking for your help. If you are on Facebook please go to The Studio’s new page and like/follow us. And let your friends know that if they were following us before they need to like the new page as the old one will not have any posts or updates as we can not log into it. We would really appreciate your support. See the new page here.

This group loves gouache….and what’s not to love?! It’s a great medium and we are having a great time exploring what we can do with it. Nice work!!! We’ll have another gouache session soon. Won’t you join us?

Here is the kids other painting from this weeks Art Camp. They did GREAT!

The kids painted Georgia O’Keeffe’s Red Poppy at Art Camp yesterday. Didn’t they do an AMAZING job? Great work everyone. Just wait to see what they do next.

Small businesses are asked all the time to donate to all sorts of causes. A few weeks ago I was asked to help with a really special event that I was so happy to have The Studio sponsor. I led a Zoom Paint Party for Special Love. When Lizi explained that they wanted to do something special for these parents I knew I wanted to help. Special Love is and organization that serves children with cancer and their families. What they do to normalize and make fun events for these families is amazing. I was so happy to be able to help with this one. Be sure to check out their website by clicking Special Love and see all their amazing work.

We had a great time at a private party yesterday painting this summer scene….flip flops on the beach. Everyone did a great job painting these. Fun with friends. Nice!!!! We have plenty of fun events coming up. Check out the schedule here.
