Sewing Camp Tote Bags

These kids learned all about sewing machines yesterday morning and then they made these super cute lined tote bags. Great job!!!

Squirrel!

Did someone say Squirrel???!!!! Didn’t these 5 and 6 year old artists do amazing work on their squirrel paintings yesterday at The Studio???!!! Terrific. Our “Animal Affair” Art Camp ended yesterday but don’t worry there is much more camp this summer for kids. Next week we have a “Beach Party” session for ages 5-7. Art Camp Has Begun

Art Camp at The Studio started yesterday with these 4 great young painters (and Lincoln) as they painted these cute little geese in a lavender field. We are exploring animals in this 2 day camp. We have lots more great sessions coming up this summer. Check out the schedule here and register your young artists. And don’t miss the sewing camps too. We have one starting Thursday and there is one space left in it!

Hydrangeas!

We had a full house yesterday for our Hydrangea Paint Party….and everyone did a beautiful job on their canvases. Art Camp Begins Monday

Art Camp begins with our first session on Monday for ages 5-7. The thenme for Art Camp I is “Animal Affair”. Our young painters will create several animal themed paintings on Monday and Tuesday. Sandy’s Special Quilt

Sandy is Lincoln’s sitter. She has been with us even before Lincoln so she has been a family friend for a very long time. Recently she was admiring a specialty quilt that I made for another friend and I told her I would make one for her that featured something she loved. Did I mention that Sandy is an amazing photograper? Well, she is. So I wanted to make her quilt with a camera theme. I asked her to send me some photographs she had taken….some of her favorites. Having received them I started laying out a design that would include a camera and film and this is what I came up with. The camera and film roll are applique. The black and white film is pieced fabric made to look like film. I printed Sandy’s photos on EQ8 Satin Printable Fabric Sheets. The border fabric with cameras I got through Joann’s. This quilt took way more time in planning than I anticipated but I was happy with the results. And I think Sandy liked it!

Friends Visit to Paint Together

I’ve written before about my student, Dianne, who brings her out of town friends to The Studio when they visit so they can paint a memory to take home. (See more here.) This week she brought her friends from Florida, Mary and Rick, who painted these lovely canvases. Great work!!!! Come visit and paint with us again soon.
