Drum Roll Please!!!!! Just look at these amazing quilts that these young Sewing Campers made this week at The Studio. They are just beautiful…and these girls did a great job learning to use a sewing machine. Can you believe that only one had ever used a machine before???? And they did all this in just 6 hours (3 hours on Monday and Tuesday mornings). Great work quilters. We hope you will keep sewing!

I just completed this jelly roll quilt a week or so ago with the same basic design as the one I did a few months ago. (See it here.) I love the design and had a beautiful jelly roll that I wanted to use. This fabric is Island Batik’s “Paisley Got Mod”. I think the colors are so nice together. This is a fun quilt to make and so easy. And yes, this one is a Quilt as You Go!

We had a great session of Sewing Camp this morning with 5 new students learning to sew on machines. They are making a little lap quilt like the sample pictured here. They did great getting their blocks organized and quilted. Tomorrow we will put them together and bind them. They are going to be great!!!! Just wait till you see them.

On Monday the young artists suggested the “LOVE” sign as a possible painting so yesterday we gave it a go. It was a challenge but look at what an amazing job they did with the sign in front of the Visitor Center. Great job everyone! Today I think we will do something a little simplier. 🙂

Remember the BIg Quilt Adventure that we went on in March? (Read about it here and here. ) And remember that I designed a quilt that featured a block for each of the states that we stopped and shopped in? (See that here.) Well, it’s back from the long-arm quilter and I LOVE IT! It is going to be a great memory from our trip and the quilters who went along on this epic adventure. I added a label to the back that features my fellow shoppers.
