Ethan and Madeline’s Daffodils
We had a successful day at our kid’s and adult art classes yesterday. Ethan and Madeline (a brand-new student) painted these fabulous spring daffodils. I love the blue background and bright yellow impressionistic flowers. Great work!

Logan’s Owl
And in the adult class, Logan finished this adorable owl. Logan started in my kids class several years ago and then moved up to the adult group this past year. She’s a natural! She has picked up every tip I have thrown out and applied it to her work. I am so proud of you Logan. SUPER!

Nick’s Peonies
And the peony painting is by Nicholas another adult student who began painting with me last fall. He didn’t want his photo taken but I had to share the beautiful painting he just completed. Nick paints meticulously and it shows in his beautiful work.
Great job everyone!

Pat with Daisy Painting
Last night Pat completed her daisy painting that we saw her working on last week. (Check that out here.) It looks terrific! Great job Pat.

Rebecca with Pet Portrait
And Rebecca, who started her painting at the “Paint Your Pet Portrait” Party a few weeks ago, came in and finished her painting of her wonderful pups. Super! So glad you painted these sweeties.
Remember, you can learn to paint too or improve you current skills by joining us for painting class or a paint party. Check out more information at the Art Class or Paint Party tabs above.

The A.J Thompson Collection sale AFP PHOTO / BEN STANSALL
An unusual sale took place at Sotheby’s this week of 15 paintings by well-known British artist L.S. Lowry. All 15 paintings were in the collection of A.J. Thompson who only collected Lowry’s work for the past 30 years. Read more about it here.

I had fun working on this crochet kitty cat. And it turned out really cute. I found this pattern on Ravelry.com – a terrific website for anyone who likes to knit or crochet. There are loads of patterns and ideas there shared by thousands of crocheters and knitters.
The cat comes from a website that has loads of great stuff. Check her out here.

Yesterday while I was at the shop, Delilah’s Art & Gifts on Main Street in Front Royal, one of the artists who has work at the shop had her granddaughter there. She is the perfect model for some of the hats at the shop.
Don’t forget that there is a “Buy One – Get One Free” Sale going on with crocheted hats right now. Stop in.

The boys painted a very nice landscape yesterday at art class. Take a look! And remember we have classes for young people on Thursday from 4:15 – 5:15 each week. Why don’t you sign up your young artist to come paint with us?

The students in the adult art classes all work on different subject matter. I like for them to paint what they want so that in the end they have a painting that they will enjoy or that they will give to friends and family. Pat is one of my students that paints many things for her family members and has done many wonderful paintings for them. Recently she completed this fabulous portrait for her daughter and she recently sent this photo showing where she hung the work.
Now Pat is on to another wonderful painting – Daisies!
Nice job Pat. I know your family has a long list of things they want you to paint for them. Keep up the good work!

I couldn’t do a baby cocoon based on a pup (see yesterday’s post) without doing one like a hound dog so here it is!
