These two young painters had so much fun painting flamingos yesterday at Art Camp. They can’t wait for the next session to start in a few weeks. Have you signed up your young artist yet?
These two enthusiastic young painters did a wonderful job painting sunflowers like Van Gogh. Great work girls!

Thanks to everyone who came out last night to Happy Creek Coffee and Tea’s Barn for my Scenes of Summer opening. The show will run through July. I hope you can stop in to see it.
The old barn walls make an interesting backdrop for art.

There are all sorts of fun things happening at The Studio….just one of which is our weekly art classes. We have adult and kids classes and everyone gets to paint the subjects they like. Take a look at more info on art class here.
Joy and Sophia finished up these terrific paintings last week. Good work girls!

The weekend at Nimrod Hall Art Program was just wonderful. So many lovely things to paint….so many nice people with whom to paint. The best thing about the weekend at Nimrod (other than the uninterrupted time to paint) is the artists who are there to teach and to learn. Everyone is generous with their time.
Yesterday morning before I left I had an opportunity to observe Fielding Archer‘s demonstration. He taught the Still Life weekend session and even though I was there to take the Plein Air weekend that Andras Bality offered I had a chance to watch them both work. (Be sure to click the links and check out both of these artists. Their works are amazing!)
So much to learn in a short amount of time. It was a terrific experience. The Studio was well represented by Kay, Gretchen, and Kathy – all from my Wednesday morning art class. We had a great time!

I’m back at Nimrod Hall for “Art Camp”. I have been looking forward to it ever since I was here last year. Last night after a little Wine & Cheese Meet & Greet and a marvelous dinner our instructor challenged us to a little quick sketch painting at dusk. Well, it was almost dark….but who cares….it was fun! Here is what I was able to do in about 30 minutes before it got too dark to see. Looking forward to more new challenges today.

Yesterday our young artists studied Edward Hopper and we recreated one of his most famous paintings – Nighthawks.
Super work everyone on this very difficult painting!
There are many more sessions of Art Camp coming up this summer. Get your kids signed up for one today! Click here for the schedule.
