Look at the gorgeous orchids everyone painted yesterday at our Paint Party. They did GREAT!

Our March banners turned out great! Just look at them. We had both sessions of our classes yesterday and had lots of fun with these leprechaun hats and clovers. Great work everyone!

This is one of the quilts that won Best at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show in the Traditional Machine Workmanship category. It was beautiful!

And here are two more winners….one in the Modern category and the other was Best in Show….called Sherbert on a Cloudy Day…..AMAZING!!!! There were many beautiful quilts and we’ll share more in the next few days.

We had a large group paint the Magnolia Buds last night at The Studio. Beautiful job all around! Check out all the other great flowers we will be painting soon at The Studio by clicking here.

What a FABULOUS job everyone did yesterday at the Pet Portrait class! Just look at these beauties!!!! We love the Pet Portrait classes best. If you have a pet you love be sure to come paint them with us. Our next session is coming up on March 30th. Click here for more info and to register. Space is limited in these classes so that we can work individually with each painter. Come paint your beautiful pets!

Using up Scraps

Finally got Lincoln off of the String Quilt blocks long enough to complete this throw. I’ve been trying to use up some scraps. It seems like they multiply when I put them in the bin to wait for a project. I’m going to try to eliminate the huge scrap supply this year. Right!!!

Yesterday I attended QuiltCon for the first time. It was held in Raleigh this year. It’s the largest Modern Quilt Show in the world. I was not disappointed! There were so many amazingly beautiful quilts….unique and colorful. And then there were minimalist designs. This one, Mulberry Swirl by Kelly Spell of Hixson TN won the Minimalist category. It is so simple but gorgeous. The show runs through Sunday so if you can get to Raleigh’s Convention Center it is worth the trip!

Mischele and Loretta just completed these two beautiful flower paintings at our Wednesday morning art class this week. Great work ladies! Did you know we have weekly art classes every Wednesday at 10:30 and 5:30 at The Studio. Students paint the subjects of their choice and improve their painting skills. We have so much fun. Contact Kelly if you’d like to paint with us.

We had a great group of painters yesterday at the Browntown Community Center for their fundraiser. Everyone did a fabulous job painting a mountain landscape with redbuds. Nice work all around! Can’t wait till we do it again. And if you would like to paint with us check out the upcoming Paint Parties at The Studio here.
