I bought my ticket back in December…the day they went on sale. And I’ve waited patiently (well, sort of) for the day to arrive. It was my Birthday present to myself. And finally the day arrived. I traveled to DC with my good buddy, Sandy. We came early and made a day of it. The rain came down but that didn’t deter us. By concert time the clouds lifted and it was perfect.
JAMES TAYLOR and BONNIE RAITT!!!! Can you believe it? Together. They were awesome! They played a few new songs but a LOT of old favorites. I especially like the one he sang about Sunny Skies…the pug! 🙂 Often, when I look forward to something for this long I am disappointed when it arrives but this did NOT disappoint. I do love me some James Taylor! I wish the photos were clearer but you can get the idea from these. Did I mention it was AWESOME???!!!!!!

This summer we have enjoyed meeting grandchildren who have been visiting our friends. And we especially glad that they came to The Studio to paint. This week I was delighted to work with Courtney. She is our friend Linda’s granddaughter visiting from Maryland. She chose to paint Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and she did a fantastic job. Come visit us again soon Courtney!

Yesterday was a day for boys to paint at The Studio. First Gayl had her nephews with her this week for class and they got to do a special painting from photos they took at Dinosaur Land. Didn’t they do great? And then Ethan was her for art class and painted my favorite little trailer. I love these.

Yesterday we celebrated Jed’s 10th birthday by going to the dog park to run and play. This was a great way to start the day. Jed has been such a good boy all these years and we are just grateful that we found him. Happy Birthday old boy! We hope you have many more!

On the last day of this session of art camp our young artists (ages 5-7) painted another local scene….our Town Clock. And didn’t they do a terrific job?! It is always a challenge to get so many to sit still for a photo but then when a dog walks by as we are set up for the photo all kinds of wiggling occurs. Everyone of them had to get a pet in as the pup walked by. LOL

This session of Art Camp has our kids painting local scenes. Yesterday they painted a view of the old bridge entering town. They did an awesome job with this one. Can’t wait to see what this group of little artists do today!

We had a lot of fun at art class yesterday with a fun group of girls painting a delightful little camping scene. What cute campers! I’ve been looking for one for years and I would be thrilled to find any of these. Wouldn’t you?
