20190904_201817.jpg Kids class started back yesterday with a great group painting a beautiful door painting with flowering shrubs.  They did GREAT!!!

Here’s How….

I get asked all the time How do I know what is scheduled at The Studio and how do I register?  The easiest way is to follow us on Facebook at The Studio-A Place for Learning and check out our events or check this link for The Studio Square site where you can register.  And thanks for asking!

20190902_093706.jpgWe have a palette knife paint party coming up  on September 10thand this time we are painting small.  Click here to register. This is another example of what we will be doing.  You can see another one here.

Lincoln and Charlotte collage.pngI was trying to organize some photos….what a job!!!!  And as I was going through them I came across two of my favorite paintings/drawings that I have seen all year….and they are both of Lincoln by his favorite little girl, Charlotte.  I love these works of art so much!!!!  And Lincoln loves Charlotte…and visa versa!

A Hidden Door

20190829_162236.jpgAnother door idea for a possible series of paintings to come for Paint Parties.

Blue Door View

20190829_065219.jpgWorking on some new ideas for Paint Parties.  This one is the Blue Door View…hopefully the first in a series of doors.  How do you feel about painting some like this?

20190827_215339.jpgThe group of painters last night created some beautiful representations of Steinlen’s Black Cats last night.  They look super!  The next Famous Painter night will be September 24th at 6 pm.  We will be painting Hopper’s Sailing from 1911.  Join us by clicking here for more info and to register.

Painting Small

Small Landscape to sellWe often offer BIG painting options at The Studio where you can create a large canvas but sometimes it is nice to do something smaller to hang in that small space at home or to give as gifts.  Coming up we have two options for painting small.  First on Tuesday, September 10th at 6 pm we will do a small oblong landscape featuring the palette knife or you can choose to join us on Thursday, September 12th at 6 pm to paint a small 5×7 with a brush.  The Thursday class even includes the frame!  Just click on the links to register.  These are fun and fast and make beautiful little works of art.

People who know me well know that for years every time we pass a camper on the road I would say “All my life I’ve wanted a Winnebago!”  Several years ago I got serious about getting one and started doing tons of research on what I really wanted.  Having done that I decided a pull-along trailer would suit my situation better and I started looking at all the different styles and layout.  Then my regular routine was that every night before bed I would spend several minutes searching online…especially since Facebook Marketplace got popular.  A few weeks ago I ran across one that looked perfect for me.  And it was!  We went to Warfordsburg, PA to see it and then back a few weeks later to get it.  WooHoo!  It’s been fun going over it and deciding what we need to make it our great little retreat.  It’s in awesome condition and we can’t wait to start using it.  I’m sure there will be more photos to come.  Lincoln and I are so excited!!!  And many thanks to Allen for being such a trooper and letting me drag him all over God’s Green Acre to see it and bring it home.

Plein Air SunflowersThis photo popped up in a memory feed from 6 years ago and reminded me that we need to get out and do more plein air workshops, don’t you think?
