Didn’t these wonderful painters at Lake Frederick do an amazing job on their first painting. Nice work all around. It was a delight to be in the studio there….and nice to be painting with a big group. Can’t wait till the next one…..May 21st!

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!! Didn’t they do an amazing job on these tulip paintings?! Great work everyone!!!!

These kids are something! They painted these beautiful tulip paintings yesterday at Kid’s Class in just an hour. Great work. But Lincoln got distracted at photo time when he saw Barbara coming for Aiden because he knows she often has treats for him. LOL

It’s time to vote in the Best of Warren County survey….and we only have until Friday so please do it today! Click on this link and click on “Best of” tab at the far right of the black bar at the top of the page and click Warren County. Scroll through and vote for your favorites….and be sure to go to # 106 Local Artist and vote for The Studio-Kelly Walker. I would really appreciate it. There are loads of great people to vote for on this survey so if you have time go through and click all your favs. I know they would appreciate it. Many thanks for the support!

I spent yesterday at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was so strange as many times I was the only on in the galleries…but it was wonderful because I got to linger and really study each painting. I will try to share some in the next few days and I hope you can see the close up of the brush work of these amazing painters. The one here, by Claude Monet, is a great example of brushwork and texture. Be sure to try to enlarge the photos and take a look. AMAZING!

I spent yesterday afternoon at The Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia….probably my favorite art museum. I love it mainly because of the beautiful impressionistic and post-impressionistic art…but also because of the way it is displayed. It is amazing. Click here to read more about The Barnes Foundation. If you are a lover of art this is one stop you must add to your list of places to see. I love Matisse so I spent a good deal of time looking at the amazing Matisse works of art Dr Barnes collected. Today I am off the the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

These painters created beautiful birdhouses in the garden yesterday. A terrific group for a terrific paint party. It’s so nice to see such lovely creations. Join in for the next Birdhouse Paint Party on Saturday, April 3rd. Click here for more info and to register.

I returned to some of the paintings that I did during the workshop I mentioned earlier this week. See that post here. I touched this one up….a forced hyacinth bulb that I got a week before the workshop started. I like how it turned out…especially the shadows.
