The Simplex Star

Our two Block of the Month classes made the beautiful Simplex Star for their sampler quilts yesterday. This is the 4th block finished of the 12 we are doing this year for our sampler. They look great! Nice work ladies. Can’t wait for the next one.

Beautiful QAYG Placemats

We had a great day of sewing and quilting yesterday at The Studio. After making totes in the morning we made Quilt as You Go Placemats in the afternoon. It’s fun to learn to do something new and learn techniques you can apply to other projects. Great work everyone!!!!

Simplex Star Quilt & Lincoln

Just finished this Simplex Star quilt. It’s a variation on the Friendship Star and Lincoln seems to like it. This is the block our Block of the Month group is doing for our Sampler quilt but I liked it so much I wanted to do an entire quilt with it. I really like the way the diamonds highlight the stars. Georgia Quilts as Gifts

For the last few months I have worked on quilts for Christmas gifts. Even though I live in Virginia now I will always be a Georgia girl and while shopping at Joann’s Fabrics I saw this “Georgia State” fabric. I asked the clerk why they had Georgia fabric in Virginia and she said she suspected that some store in Georgia must have a shipment of Virginia fabric. LOL! I bought enough to make quilts for several family members back home. They all liked them. I loved the fabric designs with peaches, flip flops and outlines of the state. Take a close look.
