A few weeks ago I introduced a new series of quilts that I had designed, all based on NOT including any half-square triangles. My good friend, Wilma, hates making half-square triangles so I designed this group of quilts with her in mind and decided to call it The Wilma Series. (See and read about that here.) I just finished one of the designs this afternoon. I love the colors and the modern feel to this quilt. It was put together using the Quilt As You Go method. It went really fast!

Our Thursday Night Quilters completed their Sampler Quilts last night. Samantha, Shannon and Jillian are shown here with their amazing works. We missed Becky and Paula last night but look forward to seeing their finished quilts too. This was such a fun group of ladies…always eager to learn more and always ready to laugh. We had a great year quilting together! If you would like to learn more about quilting and sewing watch for our upcoming classes. We have a new garment series beginning soon.

I completed this “Fancy Diamond” quilt top last month and was pleased with how it turned out. I took it to my longarm quilter, Wendy Hughes. When I got it back I was thrilled. Just look at the beautiful stitching she did on the blocks and neutral space. Wendy made a quilt that I was pleased with into a quilt that I am so delighted to have! Don’t you agree that it’s amazing????!!!!! Thanks Wendy…beautiful work!

At yesterday’s Row Quilt class while some of our quilters finished up their blocks, Janet started assembling her quilt rows. Isn’t it gorgeous???!!!! I just love how it is turning out. And Janet is doing a beautiful job on it. Can you believe she has just started quilting recently while attending The Studio’s Quilt as You Go classes? I can’t wait to see it when she gets the other half on it along with the border and binding. The color and fabric choices are so nice. It’s going to be fabulous!!!! Great work Janet.

A New Quilt Series – Wilma

Last night I worked on the designs of a new quilt series. The thing that makes it special is that it has no half square triangles in it. My friend Wilma is NOT a fan of half square triangles so I am calling this collection Wilma…..just for her! LOL! Patterns will be available soon as well as a class to teach an “On Point” quilt using the Quilt as You Go method.

As we just announced we will begin our “Banner Year” soon featuring a quilted banner for each month of the year. This one with our patchwork acorn and pinwheels will be November’s banner. The hardest part of designing this year long class is narrowing down the ideas. But that will be good news for those who participate because they will get several patterns each month. WooHoo! We love bonus patterns, don’t you???!!!! The schedule for the first quarte should be ready today or tomorrow so be sure to watch for it on The Studio Facebook page. If you haven’t “liked” our page be sure to do that now.

I’ve been working on a series of quilted banners that will feature a different image to represent every month of the year. They can be used as banners…or with a few additions they can be made into a tablerunner. And you could even combine them all to make a great quilt. There will be an announcement soon for the first class in this series. And the first 6 to register will receive one of these really nice banner holders. Watch for the date of the upcoming class. And over the next few days we will feature on the blog the banners for the first few months in the series.
