Pet Portraits 3 KodakYesterday afternoon we had the Kid’s “Paint Your Own Pet Portrait” Workshop.  It was so much fun!!!!  The kids did superb work on their portraits.  We had dogs, cats, and horses.  They were all so different and all so good!  Great job young artists.  I love seeing the enthusiasm of young painters creating beautiful art.

Many thanks to my good friend and great painter, Linda, who helped with this large group. Couldn’t have done it without your help.

We have an adult workshop today from 4-7.  Let me know if you want to come join us.

As you know I love dogs.  And I love it when my friends post photos of their dogs on their Facebook pages.  A few months ago some friends from back home in Georgia got a new puppy that is just adorable and they posted terrific pics of her.  They were kind enough to give me permission to paint from their photos.  This is Jace…a super cute lab pup that loves the beach.  What a cutie.  This painting is called Jace and is 8″x6″, acrylic on canvas and is available for $120 framed.

A Day to Remember Truman

TrumanToday would have been Truman’s birthday.  So we are taking today to remember our boy.  He was such a character.  If you have been following my blog for a while you will recognize him and may recall some of his antics.

Snow in Feb Truman looks outTruman wasn’t big on snow (or rain for that matter) so when we had that big snow storm a few years ago it took everything I had to get him to go out to do his “business”.  He would just go out and look around, shake his head and come back inside.

Tru He was a really cute pup who came to live with us when he was just 5 1/2 weeks old.  Spoiled wouldn’t begin to describe him.  But he was so darn cute it was hard not to give him his way.  Click here and here to see more about the TruMonster!  So here’s to you Truman.  We miss you!

Remembering Boo

tn_Boo's PaintingWhite ShepToday I am remembering Boo, a beautiful white shepherd, who came to live with  us when she was 12 years old.  We rescued her from our local shelter and she was  the perfect girl.

While she was a senior and only lived a couple more years, she was a charming addition to our family and we loved making her last years special.  Today would have been her birthday.  We miss you Boo.

Several months ago Pat came to class excited about this dog she had met recently at her family reunion.  She said it was the prettiest dog she had ever seen.  “It’s pretty as a cow!”, she said.  🙂  That’s high praise from Pat – she loves cows!  Here is the beautiful painting she just completed in art class of this pretty dog.  Great job Pat!

Mamie Eisenhower Walker

Mamie Eisenhower Walker all cleaned up

We are wishing a Happy 1 year Anniversary today to Mamie.  It was one year ago that we adopted her.  She came in and immediately took over our life and hearts.  What a little sweetie.  Mamie with Boys 1 in Window

Art Camp with Waffle Yesterday we had such excitement at art camp.  We were studying George Rodrigue of Blue Dog fame and we painted a blue dog and Waffle!  Waffle is Maggie’s, one of the art campers, new puppy.  So Waffle came to class to have his photo made with the painters after they finished his painting.  How adorable!

Waffle and Kelly He is a young guy, I think about 4 months, and he is all puppy fat and cuteness.  Who could resist?  Not me.  I had to pick up his little chunky self and squeeze it a little.  He wasn’t thrilled but let me get in a few hugs and kisses.   WaffleThanks Waffle for being our inspiration.
