We painted the Super Moon with Sophia and Joey this week. Look at what a great job they did! And mine is a small 5″x7″ canvas available for sale.

We had so much fun making Rag Quilts on Sunday at The Studio. Where else can you learn to make a Rag Quilt and walk away with a finished product in just 3 hours???!!!! Great job everyone. And you asked for it so here it is….another one scheduled on January 8th. And the best part….all the fabrics are flannel with Cats or Dogs motif. You know I LOVE these. Register early because we are very limited in space for these workshops. Click here for more info and to register for the January 8th workshop.

The recent Super Moon inspired some paintings this past week. Here is my miniature version of the moon peaking around the mountain. This one is 5″x7″ and is SOLD. We will have several miniature paintings available (as well as regular paintings and items from other teachers from The Studio) at the Holiday Artisan’s Market and Ugly Sweater Contest on Sunday, December 4th at 2- 5 pm. So much wonderful art is being created each week at The Studio. And we love welcoming new painters to our kids and adult classes. This past week Curt and his wife Nancy joined us and came to a couple of classes and Open Studio. Curt completed this wonderful painting of a memory from a family trip to Iceland. The Sod House is nicely done Curt! Can’t wait to see Nancy’s finished painting of geraniums. Coming soon!
The New Cool Cowl

I’ve learned to knit and you know what that means…..more cool patterns! On the trip to Raleigh last week I was with two knitters and we decided to make this cool looking cowl so we pick up some nubby yarn. When I got home I got started. I had a pattern and everything….but I don’t know enough yet about knitting so on row 3 of the pattern I went rogue. Since I didn’t know what I was doing I just made it up…..and I like how it turned out. Then I made a crocheted version(pictured on the right). I think we’ll have a class in these in January. Get your hooks or needles ready!

I took a Bob Burridge workshop on Saturday at Art of the Carolinas. Here are some scenes from that afternoon. Bob is all about working fast and loose…no small brushes…he uses paper towels and his fingers. I love the effect!
