The Fun Girls

I’ve dubbed this group “The Fun Girls”. This is the third time they have had a private party at The Studio and every time they roll in with a theme, take time to decorate the space and are dressed to kill. The youngest one had on a pair of glittery silver boots so we switched our holiday music to “These Boots are Made for Walking” by Nancy Sinatra and we all sang at the top of our lungs. I’m sure anyone walking by outside had to hear and think “what are they doing in there now?” And the food they bring is enough for several dozen people….but not to worry…they bring to-go boxes. They are so prepared! They really know how to have fun. I can’t wait till the next one……Mardi Gras! Thanks girls. Great job!!!!

Chair Among Azaleas

Several months ago I started working on this painting. The reference I used was from a photo I tore out of a magazine from May 2011. I held on to it for so long because I really liked the way it looked and knew that sooner or later I would get to painting something from it. And now, 9 years later I did. LOL! This one I painted a little larger, 24″x24″. It reminds me of scenes I grew up with in South Georgia.

Teachers & Snowmen

A large group of teachers and friends got together to paint a little snowman landscape yesterday afternoon. Lots of painting, lots of laughing, and lots of fun! And, of course, Lincoln was in heaven making his rounds to be sure everyone had an opportunity to adore him. Nice work ladies. Can’t wait till the next time.

It’s fun to see different color combinations as people paint at The Studio. A few weeks ago we painted this Expressionist painting and a few days ago Wilma came to do it too. Beautiful work! Check out the other colors that were done here.
