Debs Blnkt

Deb’s Beautiful Blanket

Now you have a good excuse for all the crocheting you are doing!  It’s good for your health.  🙂

Take a look at this interesting article from Red Heart  that describes some of the many benefits of crocheting and knitting.  Here is an excerpt:   “Relaxed, repetitive motions such as the ones used in crochet and knitting can help calm down the body and the brain. Have you ever come home and sat down to work on your current project after a bad day? Not only does working on something you enjoy help, but the actual motions involved assist in creating a better mood.”

And here is Deb with the blanket she made after taking last month’s crochet class at The Studio.  (See info on that here and here.) I told you this pattern worked up fast.  Doesn’t it look GREAT?!  She came by last night to learn about weaving in the ends which she’ll get done right away but I couldn’t resist getting this great shot of her with her blanket.  Beautiful work Deb.  Keep it up!  Now on to “Popcorn and Bobbles”.

I have had a couple of requests and questions about the dog sweater pattern that I made for Lincoln a few years ago.  I am not a pattern writer but I tried to write down what I did for his sweater since so many people asked for it.  I am sharing it here again.  Remember that Lincoln is a long dog and weights about 55-60 lbs.  The side view of Jed in the blue variegated sweater shows  little more about how it looks.   Feel free to change the pattern as you need for your pet.

You can see other patterns for crocheting by clicking the Crochet tab at the top of the page.

At the end of each year WordPress provides a review of statistics.  Here is the 2015 one.  For comparison here is the review from 2014.

Here’s an excerpt:

Madison Square Garden can seat 20,000 people for a concert. This blog was viewed about 64,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Madison Square Garden, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Ice and Elevate

wp-1451393503713.jpgThe reason my posts have been a little sporadic this past week is that a week ago I had knee surgery.  And because I am “recovering”  I have not been able to create the way I normally do.  I am hoping to be back at The Studio later this week to do a little catching up.  It’s hard to sit still….at least for me!
