I have been working on and off for a week or so on this large Red Wine Glass painting. It’s a commission for a friend in the city. Hoping to put maybe another touch or two on it to finish it up today. It’s acrylic on canvas measuring 15″x30″ .

Webberpack Animal Adoption And Getaway (WAAAG) is an animal rescue dedicated to rehabilitating animals and finding them forever homes. They are doing wonderful work helping animals find good homes. You may remember this is the group that invited me to paint at one of their events recently where I met Harry. (See Harry’s portrait here)
I recently completed a commission for them. This is their beautiful facility where they help so many dogs. And they have great plans for expansion. Be sure to check them out on their website or follow them on Facebook and help them out where you can.
Minnesota Truman

Several weeks ago I shared with you a portrait I did of a basset hound named Truman who lived in Minnesota. (See that here.) Last week I got this wonderful photo of Truman with his portrait. I love it. But I am sad to report that old Truman is no longer with us. His family had to let him go recently as his cancer had just gotten to bad to live with. 😦
I know that their Truman was well-loved and am so glad that they shared a small part of him with us.

A few months ago my friend Kathy asked me if I would do a special painting for her sister’s birthday. Of course! I love painting something that is so personal and special for people. She sent me some photos of her sister’s yard and here it what we came up with. She gave it to her this week and she loved it! Yeah!
A special gift of art makes the perfect gift!

A month or so ago I got an email from a man in Minnesota inquiring about a painting of a basset hound on my blog that he would like to purchase. It was an older painting and it had already sold but I told him I would be happy to paint a portrait of his dog. Turns out, his dog is a basset hound….named Truman! So we shared stories and photos of his Truman and mine and I painted his Truman for him.
He got it yesterday in the mail and was pleased. His Truman is very handsome. Mine was too. 🙂

A few weeks ago I shared a couple of posts with you about a commission that I have been working on of some small fruit paintings. You can see that here.
Here is a picture of all eight little 5″x7″ acrylic paintings completed. The client picked them up yesterday and she liked them! Yeah!

I am working on a commission of a series of small fruit paintings. Here are the first ones. I showed you the cherries earlier this week and the change in background color. (See it here.)
Now here they are almost finished along with the two apple paintings. Each is 5″x7″, acrylic on canvas. Now I need to work on the two pear and two grape paintings. Then I will put the final touches on all of them. Look for them soon!
The Photo Bomber

I just completed this commission that was mailed off to Pennsylvania this week. The person ordering the work had a very specific composition in mind for this pet portrait, as you can see here. For me, it looks like the dog is photo bombing the landscape scene. 🙂
Watercolor Commission

I just finished a commission in watercolor and delivered it this week. I have put off doing it for several months as watercolor is not my favorite medium. It’s HARD! 😉
This is a house/office on North Royal Avenue and I wish I had taken a better photograph of it but I just snapped a shot at the last-minute before delivery and it was framed so there is a glass glare on it but you can get the idea here.
Mural for Baby Room

Saturday morning I spent a delightful time at a local home painting a mural in the new baby’s room. The mom had found a design she wanted to done and she wanted it to be a family affair.
So when I got there I drew it on the wall and started it and everyone in the family painted. That included mom and dad and baby’s older brother who is also one of my art students. We even got the family dog into the act by letting her paint a paw print in the center of one of the flowers. It turned out great and I think everyone enjoyed it.
If you have a fun painting project that you would like to do with the family but aren’t sure where to start just get in touch at kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com and let me help.
