Sometimes at Art Camp we paint larger canvases….and an artist just has to get on top of it to get it done! We have much more Art Camp to come this summer so if you haven’t registered your young artist check it out now and get them involved. It is so much fun plus they learn about color mixing, composition and a variety of artists. Click here to see what else we have this summer.

You have to wonder why people do mean things to small businesses. Last week The Studio Facebook page was hijacked. They knew what they were doing. They changed the email contact on the page so that when you request to reset the password the code for the reset goes to the hackers email. The saddest part of the whole situation is that you can NOT contact anyone at FB for help. There is a form they have you fill out and then a pop up says they will respond shortly but it’s been a week and no response….no help. A week ago we had over 2600 people who could see what was going on at The Studio. Now we had to set up a new page and we have 200 followers. Why would anyone do that to a small business. It’s hard enough to run a small business in this day and time but to have someone do this for no reason is just beyond understanding. We are asking for your help. If you are on Facebook please go to The Studio’s new page and like/follow us. And let your friends know that if they were following us before they need to like the new page as the old one will not have any posts or updates as we can not log into it. We would really appreciate your support. See the new page here.

Small businesses are asked all the time to donate to all sorts of causes. A few weeks ago I was asked to help with a really special event that I was so happy to have The Studio sponsor. I led a Zoom Paint Party for Special Love. When Lizi explained that they wanted to do something special for these parents I knew I wanted to help. Special Love is and organization that serves children with cancer and their families. What they do to normalize and make fun events for these families is amazing. I was so happy to be able to help with this one. Be sure to check out their website by clicking Special Love and see all their amazing work.

We painted the second bird in our series on Thursday evening….the Carolina Wren. This cutie turned out great! Everyone did an amazing job. I think this is the most difficult one in the series but these painters didn’t have a bit of trouble. Don’t they look great?! And we had many laughs discussing what the Carolina Wren actually says…..is it “Cheeseburger, cheeseburger, cheeseburger” or “Teakettle, teakettle, teakettle”? LOL If you want to join in the fun painting at The Studio check out the upcoming painting events here and come out soon to paint with us.

Urgent Message

My Facebook account has been hijacked and that includes The Studio account. We are still trying to recover it but so far no luck and it’s not looking good. It’s just a horrible situation as we will not be able to recover all of our information from classes, photos, etc for 10 years. I am just sick about it. The worse part is not being able to contact supporters of The Studio…many of whom only see us and follow our classes and events on Facebook. If you are one of The Studio’s followers here and on FB I would appreciate it if you let others know that we can’t contact anyone on Facebook. They can stay in touch by following our website – http://www.thestudioforlearning.com or contact me a kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com . There are many people who I only message through FB and I don’t know how to get in touch with them any other way. Please put out the word for them to contact me. Thanks for your help!
