Rag Quilt Squares

 

We have made some beautiful Rag Quilts at The Studio over the past few years.  See some here and here.  And now we’ve been asked to expand from the strips and flowers to squares.  There are some really neat pre-printed squares as well as tons of pretty coordinating fabrics that will make great squares.  We’ll be giving these a try soon. This is a cute little Dog Themed (Surprise!) quilt that I made recently as a sample.

We painted Bold Expressive Portraits last night at The Studio and everyone did a FABULOUS job.

20181005_065409.jpgThe kids did a special project at class this week….Pour Painting Art.  They LOVED it!  What’s not to love?  It’s a little messy and creates cool art.  Look at the great work they did.  And if you want to try it join us for the Pumpkin Door Hanger class on October 14th where we will use this technique to make cool pumpkins.  Click here to register.

While visiting the Biltmore we also went to Antler Hill Village on the property and of course, my favorite thing there was the bronze of Cornelia and Cedric….the Vanderbilt daughter and her dog.  There was also a few pieces of Chihuly there.

We made the trip to Asheville to see Chihuly at the Biltmore.

 

It was amazing!

Even though the weather was a little overcast and even misting part of the time it was still amazing to see…both in the day and the evening.  Read more about the exhibit here.
