I am so proud of my niece, Morgan Walker. She is a graphic artist making some awesome designs. Take a look at her website here to see some of what she does. Yesterday I received a wonderful gift from her…this lovely Mountain Sunset pin. She said she made it with me in mind. I love that!!! I am hoping that soon she will be taking orders for her amazing pet portraits. I can’t wait to have her create a wonderful work of art of my Jed and Lincoln.

Shenandoah River Floods

The Shenandoah River flowed over it’s banks yesterday after we got another 4 inches of rain. The ground is so saturated from rain all last month so this just pushed it out further. Many people have flooded basements and yards. We are hoping that the rain has stopped for a while and that the sun will soak up some of this water. The photo above is looking east at the South Fork of the Shenandoah River on the right and the banks overflowed on the left. Below is the North Fork of the Shenandoah River looking west. That’s the river on the left and the flooded bank on the right. Wow!

We had our color mixing class on Thursday. To be a better painter you need to become a better color mixer. Knowing what your paints will do when you combine them will help you when you paint. Take time to “play” with your colors and learn what they will do.
