The boys painted a very nice landscape yesterday at art class. Take a look! And remember we have classes for young people on Thursday from 4:15 – 5:15 each week. Why don’t you sign up your young artist to come paint with us?

The students in the adult art classes all work on different subject matter. I like for them to paint what they want so that in the end they have a painting that they will enjoy or that they will give to friends and family. Pat is one of my students that paints many things for her family members and has done many wonderful paintings for them. Recently she completed this fabulous portrait for her daughter and she recently sent this photo showing where she hung the work.
Now Pat is on to another wonderful painting – Daisies!
Nice job Pat. I know your family has a long list of things they want you to paint for them. Keep up the good work!

I have been crocheting baby things again. I have several friends expecting babies so I have been working on gifts plus items to stock the baby section at Delilah’s. This little “Terrier Puppy Cocoon” is made of a soft baby yarn and measures 17″ long and 12″ wide and has an opening flap at the top.
I am making several others but this one was inspired by Mamie!

Comfort Blankets for Pets

Several days ago I posted about an organization, Comfort for Critters, that encourages volunteers to make blankets (knitted, crocheted, or fleece) for shelter animals. Read that post here. This is a great way to use up all those partial skeins of yarn you have lying around.
I have made a couple of blankets to take out to our shelter to donate. The Julia Wagner Animal Shelter has been added to the list of shelters participating in this program so if you knit or crochet or if you enjoy making fleece blankets consider making a few for our shelter and support those animals that are there seeking forever homes. 🙂
