A few days ago I told you about
my friend Suzanne McMinn with a blog called Chickens in the Road. I am painting this in ord
er to make a poster for her upcoming Retreat.
I took a few photos of he painting along the way so that I could show you the progress.
And this is how it turned out. “Chickens in the Road” is an oil painting on canvas measuring 16″x20″. I think it will work well for a poster for the upcoming retreat. All of the attendees will receive one as a memento of the weekend. I’m looking forward to it as I will be teaching some painting sessions. You can see more about them on the workshop tab above or here.

I love the photos that show how your paintings “mature” into a finished product!
I LOVE this, Kelly! And I see a quirky analogy to our faith life here. So often we think in terms of spiritual goals to achieve or attain. I think the analogy of a journey and a road is so much more helpful. Not only does the road take us somewhere, but occasionally we get lost and wander off the road. Fortunately, the road doesn’t go away, and usually we find it again. I find it helpful, when I get frustrated with myself or someone else for not living in a way that is up to normal standards, to realize that we’ve just stepped off the road and with a little help (or kick in the butt), we’ll get back on it again.
I love that you see that in this painting, Elizabeth. I think that is such a good way to describe it. Thanks!
I really like it Kelly! And Suzanne’s site. The dark one must be Crooked Little Hen.
