Lincoln had his first visit to the cabin recently and discovered the fish. He was fascinated by them and I think they were curious about him as well.
He also spent a lot of time running through the tall grass and chasing butterflies. He’s such a funny little guy.
Like all the dogs I have taken out there though, he hasn’t learned to pace himself and he runs until his little tongue just hangs out! Hopefully he’ll learn soon.
I grew up in a community that had three separate beaches. A family that lived near one of the beaches had a golden retriever. Every morning that dog would go into the river and stand with the water more than halfway up his legs. You could watch his head move as he followed the fish. All of a sudden he’d dip down and pick up a fish in his mouth. Then he’d take it to the beach for breakfast! I don’t remember what he’d do when the weather was bad, but I used to love watching that dog when I’d go to the beach.
