Schnauzer is an acrylic on 12″x12″ canvas.  And thanks to a generous collector in Front Royal, he was purchased with proceeds going to help build the Off-leash dog park.  Many thanks.

The “Bark for the Park” series is on display at the Daily Grind on Main Street in Front Royal.  Stop in and take a look.  And if you would like to help us build the dog park, send a donation to Warren County Dog Park Association, 939 S. Marshall St., Front Royal, VA  22630.  We are so close to our goal.  Please help if you can!

And then this morning, our friend Dixie showed up!  She comes to visit from time to time as you can see here.

Let the play begin….

A Little Late

I’m a little late with today’s post because we just returned from the cabin this morning.  And who was waiting for us on the front stoop???  Dixie!  She’s back.  And she was so glad to see Lincoln and Jed.  She came right into the house and right out the doggie door, begging them to run and chase her.

She seems to be a little camera-shy.  I had an old pink bandana that I tied around her neck but she wasn’t sure she wanted her picture taken.

Tomorrow I’ll tell you about the other dog who visited us out at the cabin yesterday.

I was asked a couple of times this week about the “Bark for the Park” Art Show and Sale.  It’s not too late to see it.  It will be hanging at the Community Center until May 15th.

And it’s certainly not too late to purchase a painting to help the park.  Just contact Kym at the Blue Ridge Arts Council or me to let us know which painting you would like.  Just like this little Lhaso Apso, all the paintings in this show are 12″x12″ acrylic on canvas and priced at $125 with all the proceeds going to the park.  You can also scroll back through the posting on this blog to see the paintings and select from one that hasn’t yet sold.

Or if you would just like to support the park you can send a donation to the Warren County Dog Park Association, c/o Kelly Walker, 939 S. Marshall St., Front Royal, VA  22630.  Any amount is welcomed and appreciated!

Just one more day to the Opening Reception of the “Bark for the Park” Art Show & Sale to benefit the Off-Leash Dog Park.

Several really good pieces of news have come my way this past week.  First, Hickory, the Scottish Deerhound who won the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this year will be in attendance as our guest of honor.  She believes in the off-leash park!  🙂

This is a painting that I did of Hickory this weekend.  I thought she should have her portrait included among the other 46 dogs on display for the show.

The reception is from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Warren County Community Center.  Please come out and invite all your friends to see the plans for the new dog park.

The second piece of good news is that several paintings have already sold!!!  Yeah!  The proceeds from sales at this show go to the dog park.  Thanks to everyone who has already made a purchase to support the park.  Of course, you can make a donation to the park without buying a painting.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Chihuahua Jack belongs to my friend Sally.  Sally has rescued dogs for years and always has a pack of dogs as part of her family.  Currently she has nine.  That’s right, 9 dogs!!!

But this little guy has set her world upside down.  She is crazy about him.  He was found living outside, all alone, and it took a long time for them to catch him.  But he has the good life now.  He’s stolen her heart and that of the rest of his family.  I think it was his underbite that did her in.  🙂

This painting is part of the “Bark for the Park” series on display at the Warren County Community Center to promote and fund the new dog park.  Stop by and see it.  (In private collection Raleigh, NC)

Really!  Anyone who has ever had one wants another.  They are just the sweetest dogs ever.

The Yellow Lab is a sweet pup I took a photo of at the shop a few years ago.  And the Black Lab is my Jed.  Both are acrylic paintings on canvas measuring 12″x12″.  They are on display at the “Bark for the Park” Art Show and Sale at the Warren County Community Center, 538 Villa Avenue, Front Royal.  Stop by and see it.
