We hold Open Studio every Friday from 10-1 at The Studio where artists can come and work on projects along with other painters….sharing ideas, stories and fun! From time to time I have a private student lesson during that time. This past Friday McKenzie, one of my former art campers, came to paint a beautiful landscape. McKenzie is just 10 years old….didn’t she do a great job???!!!! She loves color mixing and listens closely to instructions. Wonderful painting McKenzie! And Donna came last week to our Famous Painters session where we are recreating some of Edouard Manet’s final paintings…..all florals. She came in Friday during Open Studio to complete hers. Lately I’ve been asked about Open Studio Friday. Every Friday from 10 am to 1 pm we have Open Studio Friday at The Studio at 105 E Main Street in Front Royal. It is a time you can come work on any project you may want to bring in. The fee is just $10 for the 3 hours. We find that sometimes you can get more accomplished when you are working in the company of other creative people. And now through Christmas, if you missed a paint party that you really want to do, or if you have a gift idea you need some help with you can do it during Open Studio. Just contact Kelly and let her know which image you want to paint so she can prep it for you and she’ll send you the link for payment and then you can come in and have your own “private Paint Party”. How fun is that?! So take a look at all the things we have painted in the last few years and choose one to do.
The Sandys have completed the jacket. Sandra Charles, on the left, is a fabulous seamstress and she spent a few Fridays at Open Studio teaching Sandy Schwalb to sew. The jacket was made with antique fabric given to Sandy by her aunt in New York City. It’s beautiful but a little fragile with which to work so it was a challenge. It turned our terrific. Nice work girls!
Did you know that every Friday at The Studio from 10-1 you can come and work on those projects that you just can’t seem to get done at home….or need someone to give you a little help? Sometimes people paint, sometimes we crochet, sometimes we sew….you just never know what might be going on! But the one thing that always happens is FUN! We have fun at The Studio. This past Friday Sandra continue the sewing lesson she has been doing with Sandy. The jacket is almost there! Can’t wait to see their finished project.
