Back to Art – Rockefeller Plaza

After a week of posting crochet on my blog I’m back to art. But first I want to say thanks to everyone who responded so positively to the crochet. I was shocked! And many thanks to those of you who purchased items. With your encouragement I have taken some things to Delilah’s so if you are interested in hats, slippers, or bags, stop into the shop and take a look.

Now back to art. Rockefeller Plaza is an acrylic on canvas measuring 24″x18″. This painting began as a lesson for a private student who was interested in doing a “representational abstract” of this view. We had fun working on it. As you can see it was a Christmas view. It is SOLD!

Irish Setter at Blue Ridge Arts Council

Irish Setter is a watercolor on paper measuring 12″x12″ and is available at the Blue Ridge Arts Council. It is part of the current show at BRAC.

Stop in at 305 East Main Street in Front Royal to see the new show. It features 6 or 7 local artists with a variety of work. It’s a nice show. I have about 7 or 8 dog paintings in it.

Vineyard View

From time to time I go through older paintings that I have stacked up in the studio and decide to rework a piece. Mainly it involves taking a good look at the painting and deciding what it needs to make it better.

That is what happened with this one. I started this one painting on location at a local vineyard. It was about 80% finished when I brought it home and I just never did anything else to it. So I decided it was time to get back to it. 🙂

I didn’t post for a few days because the “boys” and I went out to the cabin for a few days and we don’t have internet service there.

Truman and Jed enjoy running and playing there, off the leash, chasing whatever moves! Of course with all the snow still on the ground there Truman wasn’t as big on the running and playing as Jed was.
