One of my favorite creative people, Denise Kupiszewski and her husband, Alek, came to Open Studio yesterday to paint together. What fun! They did amazing work and had great fun. Alek is a technical guy so it’s good for him to get in touch with his creative side. And he did just that yesterday recreating a Franz Marc Horse. Beautiful work! And Denise did a version of the cute little Lincoln hat snowman. Super, super cute! (You all know Denise from The Mud Peddler Studio in Shepherdstown WV and she offers pottery classes at The Studio from time to time. Check out her website here and watch for her classes. It’s worth the trip up to Shepherdstown to take a class with her.)

The Marc Red Horse

The final session of Art Camp started Thursday and these enthusiastic painters created the Franz Marc Red Horse. Nice work!!!!

Tuesday evening we had Famous Painter Night at The Studio and recreated Franz Marc’s “Dog Sleeping in Snow” from 1910. Everyone did a great job tackling this expressive, cubist painting. These evenings are a great opportunity to learn more about color mixing and improving brushwork. Join us for the next session on August 24th at 6 pm as we recreate Van Gogh’s Wild Roses.
