One of the artists that we studied this week for Art Camp was Van Gogh. And yesterday we began our “Masterpiece” painting – a 16″x20″ Starry Night painting. It won’t be finished until after today’s class. But earlier in the week we also talked about Van Gogh and we painted a sunflower. Here is the first of our homage to Vincent! Great job guys!!!

Several weeks ago as I was preparing for Modern Art Camp for the kids I decided I needed to attempt a copy of a Matisse painting since that’s what we would be doing for camp. The one on the left, Lady in a Purple Dress, is
the one I did. My Wednesday Young Artists gave it a go too. Charlee is shown her with her beautiful version.
And this is Maggie with her excellent version. Great job girls. It was fun painting in a little different style and learning more about Matisse.

Art Campers Complete “Masterpiece”!

The Art Campers completed their “Masterpiece” painting yesterday. The emphasis for this week of camp is impressionism so of course, we painted a Monet.
They chose the Japanese Bridge over the Lily Pond as their subject.
And look at what a super job they did!!!
But art is exhausting. After taking two camp days to complete the large 16″x20″ painting they were pooped. At break time yesterday, they all took their snacks and went out into the lobby and laid down on the floor to eat their snacks. Pooped out!!!

The huge art sale at Delilah’s over the weekend was a great success. Thanks to all the collectors who bought art and other gift items.
There were so many great deals at 50% off and some even as low as 80%.
These two daisy paintings, originally $150 each are still available at 75% off. They are framed really beautifully and would make great gifts at just $37.50 each. They are oil on panel and measure approx. 8″x8″ (approx. 11″x11″ framed) Just email me at kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com to get these two at a bargain.
