I mentioned a few weeks ago here that I painted some chickens for a poster for the upcoming Retreat hosted by Suzanne McMinn of Chickens in the Road fame.  That art is featured on her website now.  Take a look at it here.  I am looking forward to being a part of the Retreat as I will be teaching several painting workshops.  And the good news is there is only a few spaces left.  It fills up fast!

This is Cochise.  He is a beautiful Rottweiler that I got to meet recently.  I had actually met him and his sister, Cheyenne, as pups.  But now that he is grown and well over 100 pounds he’s a lot of dog when he jumps up to hug you!

These beautiful babies belong to Betty and Steve who commissioned their paintings.  You can see Cheyenne here.

This is a commission that I did for Christmas for some friends who live in Hilton Head.

They wanted a front and back version of their home in one piece so these are acrylic on watercolor paper and they are framed together.

A few days ago I told you about my friend Suzanne McMinn with a blog called Chickens in the Road.  I am painting this in order to make a poster for her upcoming Retreat.

I took a few photos of he painting along the way so that I could show you the progress.

And this is how it turned out.  “Chickens in the Road” is an oil painting on canvas measuring 16″x20″.  I think it will work well for a poster for the upcoming retreat.  All of the attendees will receive one as a memento of the weekend.  I’m looking forward to it as I will be teaching some painting sessions.  You can see more about them on the workshop tab above or here.

The Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show begins this evening in New York City.  This lovely lady is Hickory Wind, winner of last year’s show. And local resident…she lives in Flint Hill.   We had the good fortune to meet her last March when she came to the Opening Reception of the Bark for the Park art show.   The painting of her is acrylic, 12″x12″ on gallery wrap canvas.

We wish her a happy retirement.  And hope you will all watch the show and remember to rescue your best friends.  There are so many who need you.
