The 17th in the series of 30 MLB Fields is the home of the Oakland Athletics – O co. Coliseum. The unusual 6 floor seating area in the outfield was built to satisfy Al Davis, the Oakland Raiders owner, to provide more seating and lure the football team back from L.A.

Our final painting for this session of Art Camp is a bright and fun VW Bug based on Andy Warhol’s. The kids loved doing this one and they did an outstanding job.
We had a wonderful week studying famous painters and the young painters have some wonderful new art for their homes. Great job!
There is one session of Art Camp remaining this year, August 5-8. If you have a young artist who would like to paint contact kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com.

Art Campers and Waffle!

Yesterday we had such excitement at art camp. We were studying George Rodrigue of Blue Dog fame and we painted a blue dog and Waffle! Waffle is Maggie’s, one of the art campers, new puppy. So Waffle came to class to have his photo made with the painters after they finished his painting. How adorable!
He is a young guy, I think about 4 months, and he is all puppy fat and cuteness. Who could resist? Not me. I had to pick up his little chunky self and squeeze it a little. He wasn’t thrilled but let me get in a few hugs and kisses.
Thanks Waffle for being our inspiration.
Art Campers Paint Manet

Another session of Art Camp is off to a GREAT start! Yesterday we painted a wonderful copy of Manet’s Peonies, one of my favorites. And the kids painting turned out magnificent. Terrific painters. Can’t wait to see how today’s painting turns out.
Ps. I got a question about why one kid keeps covering his face. His parents prefer that his image not be posted on the internet but I wanted him to be able to show off his beautiful work so this is our compromise. 🙂

I love it when people who have collected my art share with me photos of it in their homes. Here is one from Janet who has purchased several of my paintings, most recently “The Farmer’s Market”. This is how she has it hanging in her kitchen with two poppy paintings that she also purchased. Love it! Thanks for sharing this with me, Janet. And thanks for collecting original art!!!
