We have so much fun when we paint together. These ladies have been so supportive through this past year. As a small business owner who is still here toward the end of this terrible pandemic I owe that to painters like these who have continued to create throughout this craziness. And the fact that they make my time at The Studio so much fun is just icing on the cake!!!! You can see here in this series of photos the joy they bring to the work. Thanks Lisa, Barbara, Beth and Jackie for all the laughs! I wouldn’t be here without you all.

Our Wednesday Night Adult Art class has gathered a great group of young, enthusiastic painters. These girls have such great ideas and are always willing to try something fun. Great work everyone! Keep it up. If you want to develop you painting skills join us at The Studio on Wednesdays from 5:30-7 pm. Contact kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com for more info. We’d love to paint with you.

We have two great new paintings for Paint Parties this weekend and there is still time to register. Call a friend and sign up now. Click here for more information and to register.

More Bees….

Our Wednesday Kids painted these beautiful bees at class yesterday. And the kids told me all kinds of facts about bees. They know a LOT!

What a surprise to find that an old crochet pattern that I made up a long time ago got selected for Home and Garden Digest “15 Best Crochet Tablecloth Patterns”. It was a nice surprise! You can see their article here with all the tablecloth patterns. Mine is number 11. I made it in 2013 just because I was sitting around with some extra cotton yarn and it was fun to play around with ideas. Then Mamie decided she liked it so I named it for her. This photo shows why. You can click here to go directly to the page with pattern.

I’m so excited to have my Expressive Hydrangeas selected for ShenArts Council’s ArtScape12 for the banners in Winchester. Take a look here to see all that are going to be a part and they are on display at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley now.

Yesterday we had our 3rd Sunday Pottery class with Denise Kupiszewski from The Mud Peddler is Shepherdstown. She has been teaching us new and fun things with clay. Some made mugs and a few of us made birdhouses. My sister is visiting from Georgia and we opted for the birdhouse. They turned out great. Now they’ll dry and get glazes before we will get them back in a few weeks. Can’t wait to see how they look! If you are interested in “playing” in the mud with us watch for Denise’s next class….May 23rd at 1 pm. I know we’ll be making another fun project.

What a fun afternoon painting pets! Yesterday we had our monthly Paint Your Pet’s Portrait Party but we also had a group of young ladies celebrating Samy’s 13th Birthday….a party within a party! And everyone painted amazing likenesses of their loved animals. Nice work everyone. The next Paint Your Pet Portrait event is Saturday, May 22nd at 1 pm. You can click here to register or for more info.

Logan just completed this amazing Art Deco design canvas at The Studio in our Thursday afternoon class. What an amazing piece. I love it!!! We meet every Thursday from 2-3:30 for anyone interested in painting. Everyone chooses their own subject and off we go! Contact kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com if you are interested in learning to paint or improving your painting skills.
