As I mentioned yesterday, I had a friend and fellow painter come out to the cabin this weekend to enjoy the landscape and paint.  Susan has been painting for a year or so now and is doing a great job.  This was her first foray into “plein air” painting.

Here is the painting that I worked on that day and the progression of the work…

And here it is about 95% finished.  I’ll do a little more work on it in the studio and it will be ready for sale.  This “Fall View” is an oil on 11″x14″ canvas and will be available for $225 by contacting kwalker@doubledogdesigns.com .

Tomorrow I’ll share more with you about what Jed and Lincoln did while we painted.  🙂

Spent the weekend with fellow artist and dogs out at the cabin.  Just returned early this morning  and don’t have time to give a full account.  Let this be a teaser for tomorrow.  🙂

This is the painting that I did at the Festival of Leaves last Saturday .  It’s not quite finished but I’ll tweak it a little in a day or two to finish it up.  Thanks to everyone who stopped by Delilah’s during the Festival of Leaves.  It was fun to see everyone.

Hats Galore

With the weather getting cooler it’s time to get out our hats and scarves.  Come by Delilah’s and see the new, handmade ones we have available.  Unique!

I love to crochet, especially in the fall and winter when the weather turns cool.  It always reminds me of my grandmothers (Granny and Big Mama)  who both  crocheted and who taught me how.

I have been working on a line of toys for the shop and they are turning out so cute.

A puppy, a monkey, and a kitty…

 A bunny, a bear, a dinosaur….

A better view of the dinosaur and a giraffe.

Several sold at the festival on Saturday but they are so much fun to make I’ll get busy and see what else I can come up with soon.  🙂

I have been working on sweaters for the boys to wear out at the cabin during hunting season.  I worry about them running loose there with all the hunters around.  Last year I put an orange t-shirt on Jed thinking that would work and he came back about 30 minutes later without it.  I never did find that shirt.

So this year I am making crocheted sweaters that fit tight enough that they can’t pull them off.  Here is Lincoln modeling his Hunter Orange sweater.

And here is Jed in a teal one that I made first as a prototype.  I had to play with the pattern to make it fit my long and low dogs.  Now on to make an orange one for Jedder Bean!  (Although he looks so handsome in Teal!)

Too Tired

Too tired after the Festival to do anything.  I’ll take photos of the paintings I worked on and get those on the blog tomorrow.

This is Lincoln’s favorite sleep position.  We were napping….or trying to.   🙂

Here’s some photos from past times that I painted at Delilah’s for Festivals.

It’s what I’ll be doing again tomorrow for the Festival of Leaves in Downtown Front Royal.  Come to the festival for a fun day.  The weather is going to be perfect and we’d love to see you.  Stop by Delilah’s and say hello.

Candied Apple

Cool air and apple harvest time means it’s time for candied apples!   Candied Apple is an oil on canvas measuring 12″x12″ and is available for $165.

Marsh View I and II are acrylic on paper measuring 9″x11″ and are available for $25 each.  These are practice exercises for a larger painting.
