Our Art Campers spent time yesterday learning more about blending. They did a great job with the Daisies and Ladybugs and because they have been doing so well they had time to add a little butterfly painting too! Nice everyone!!!!! One more day of camp today. Wait to see what comes next… If you have a young artist that would like to have fun painting check out the remaining camp sessions for the summer here.
Look at what a great job these young painters did yesterday on these little foxes as they continue Art Camp Animal week. The little fox is sitting on a stone wall with a beautiful mountain landscape scene in the background. These young artists are doing GREAT!
Art Camp Animal Week started yesterday with the artists painting these cute little bees in the lavender field. Aren’t they great????!!!! Wait till you see what they do today!
Remember back in March when we took that epic road trip to Missouri for fabric acquisition? (Read more about it here.) Well, I designed a quilt that features a block that represents each of the states that we stopped and shopped in along the way. I call it Road Trip 2023. Here is my version of the quilt using fabric that I purchased on the trip. I just finished the top yesterday and plan to send it out to be quilted. I gave each of the quilters who went on the trip this pattern and I know a couple of them are making there own versions of the quilt. I can’t wait to see how they turn out.
A few years ago Brother decided that he wanted to learn to play the fiddle. So he taught himself how! Now he goes to fiddle fests and Bluegrass jams and fiddles and fiddles. I wanted to make him a special quilt. I decided that a large fiddle applique playing with darks against lights would be best. I like how it turned out but once Wendy Hughes, long-arm quilter extraordinaire, performed her magic it turned into an incredible quilt. Thanks Wendy! I love it…and I just heard from Brother. I mailed it to him and he got it today. He loved it too! 🙂
Kids love to create! And Art Camp is a great outlet for them to learn more about painting. It’s not too late to get your young artist in on a session this summer. There is space available in most sessions. Click here to see the schedule and register your young artist!
Just completed the “Block in the Row” quilt that I started down at the river last week. It was fun one to make and went pretty fast as a Quilt as You Go project. Now on to the next one….
We had a large group of 28 painters (not all shown here) for the Belle Grove Paint Party Fundraiser yesterday. So many nice people came out to paint the beautiful scene that you see behind them in the photo. The wind gave us a little challenge but everyone came through like champs. Nice work everyone. Thanks Kristin for inviting me out to paint at such a lovely location. Now maybe next time we won’t have to tape down the palette paper! 🙂
These kids did amazing work sewing travel pillows plus a patriotic table runner at yesterday’s Sewing Camp. They learned to use sewing machines as well as hand stitch in this camp session. Great work!
