You know we LOVE Pet Portraits and yesterday we had some painters creating some beautiful works of art! Don’t they look great???!!!! We have just one more session for pet portraits this year on Saturday, November 25th at 1 pm. Click here to register and reserve your spot for this popular event.
We had nine painters for the “Airing of the Quilts” Paint Party but only these 5 finished the marathon session on Saturday. It was a LOT to do in one session and our other 4 painters will come back to finish theirs but just look at these amazing paintings!!!! Nice work everyone. I’m glad you all hung in and got it done.
Sometimes it’s fun to just grab a two pieces of fabric from the scrap bin and start sewing them together. Then adding another and another and see what turns out. I swear the scraps are multiplying overnight. I can’t seem to get ahead of all the scraps. This past week I worked on this Improv Quilt with a wonky log cabin block. Then I quilted it with a matchstick design. I love the modern look and simplicity of it. And of course, I love the scrappy effect.
I got an email from Deb a few weeks ago. She told me she had retired and wanted to learn to paint. She came to her first class at The Studio last week and yesterday she completed her first painting. Beautiful work Deb! Do glad you are beginning your painting journey with us at The Studio. If you have ever wanted to paint contact kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com for information on our Wednesday and Thursday painting classes.
As the cooler weather sneaks in it is time to grab those crochet hooks and get to work. Crocheting is a wonderful hobby. You can take it with you just about anywhere to pull out and work on for a short period or for hours. And there are so many beautiful things you can make. Come to class on Thursday, November 2nd and learn to crochet. Click here to register.
Just got my Red Poppy, Yellow Poppy quilt back from my longarm quilter. She did a beautiful job on it. I really like this one. It’s a happy, bright quilt.
Lincoln and I were on our “best” behavior yesterday afternoon as we worked with a group of pastors who came to The Studio to paint their pets. They are from all up and down the Shenandoah Valley and try to meet monthly and we were lucky enough to be one of their stops for activities. It was a BLAST! They were delightful and so are their paintings. And you can see Jackson loved his portrait! And Mia looks like she is shooting ray beams out of her eyes in the group photo. Sorry Mia but it was the sunlight out front yesterday. 🙂 Nice job everyone. Hope to see you back in Front Royal to paint with me and Lincoln again!
Did we have a good time painting this little chickadee on a fall branch? You know we did! Great job by everyone too. We have a whole lot more coming up at The Studio. Check out upcoming events here including a beautiful painting this Sunday.
