Of course, this is my favorite family paint along! Kip asked me a few weeks ago if we could do a family Paint Party and I said OF COURSE! I loved having them all at The Studio to paint. So for those who maybe don’t know from right to left, my three granddaughters, Abby, Taylor, and Morgan; next is my step-daughter, Denise; my step-son, Kip; and his brother and sister-in-law, and Susan. So much fun having them come paint….even it was “creepy gnomes”! LOL Too bad we didn’t get Allen in on the photo. He was serving as the artistic director for the event!
One of my favorite creative people, Denise Kupiszewski and her husband, Alek, came to Open Studio yesterday to paint together. What fun! They did amazing work and had great fun. Alek is a technical guy so it’s good for him to get in touch with his creative side. And he did just that yesterday recreating a Franz Marc Horse. Beautiful work! And Denise did a version of the cute little Lincoln hat snowman. Super, super cute! (You all know Denise from The Mud Peddler Studio in Shepherdstown WV and she offers pottery classes at The Studio from time to time. Check out her website here and watch for her classes. It’s worth the trip up to Shepherdstown to take a class with her.)
Dianne is a generous friend and painter. She had friends coming to visit her for new years and stay at her cabin in the valley so she painted these three little winter scenes to give them. Nice work! What a great little rememberance of a fun visit. I know they’ll love them.
Could these Snowmen be any cuter???!!! We think NOT! They are just adorable. Everyone did great and we especially enjoyed having our guests from Brazil with us last night.
This time of the year is so busy. We want to get together with family and friends and while we mean well we don’t always find the time to do it. Well, why don’t you take the pressure off by setting up a Paint Party at the first of the year to gather with family and friends? It’s fun, it’s creative and it takes all the pressure off now. Just contack Kelly to get the date on the calendar and then contact your friends and family and start planning on a great time to catch up! kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com
Sometimes I think and think to come up with an idea for a class and sometimes my students ask me to teach them to make a particular design. This was a special request. I’ve been working to get the design done so that I can ge the class set up at the frist of the year. The class is already at least half filled but I have a feeling we will have plenty of folks who would like to make their own. Watch for dates to be listed soon.
Yesterday we had a private party with family and friends painting the highland cow. Everyone did an awesome job and they all chose different embellishments from Christmas lights to Santa hats to mistletoe to wreaths to a daily in it’s hair. So much creativity! Great job everyone. Merry Christmas!
Yesterday we had two of our favorite painters, Kelly and Susan, return to The Studio to paint along with four new painters creating blue poinsettias. They did awesome work. These will look amazing decorating their homes this holiday season. Just one more Paint Party this year. Are you registered for it? Check it out here.
Look at what a great job these painters did last night at The Studio creating the Ornament in the Pine. Beautiful! We had lots of laughs while they made these sweet images that they’ll be proud to display every holiday season.
Friends from elementary school came together at The Studio yesterday to celebrate the holidays and friendship. We LOVE it when this happens and we get to be a part of it. Thanks Dianne, pictured in the middle, for sharing your friends with us. You remember her from the huge mural project recently (see it here).
