There was something about the way this place setting looked on the table at the little cafe where we had lunch when in New York City last year. I snapped this photo before eating. This past week I had the kids paint it in their class and then I worked a little more on mine. Here is what I have so far….

We had a busy day Saturday with two paint parties and the Wine Festival going on. First, a birthday Paint Party…then our regular Paint Your Pet’s Portrait Party. Everyone created beautiful pieces of art!
And we had a few people stop by during the festival to see what we do at The Studio.

This tree swing looked so inviting. I took this photo at Nimrod last year when I attended an art workshop there. Here you can see the painting along with the reference photo.

The kids have been creating some awesome works of art. I wanted to catch you up on some of their amazing art.
Kids, ages 7-12, have class every Wednesday from 4:15 – 5:15 at The Studio. Some attend weekly and some just come from time to time. We also offer private lessons. Contact Kelly at kwalker@kellywalkerstudios.com to sign your young artist up for art.

The final tree in our Four Seasons series is the Summer Tree. We will be painting it at the Paint Party on Saturday, June 4th at 2 pm. Join us for this beautiful painting.
You don’t have to paint all four….this would be a lovely work without any of the others. But if you have been painting the series and have missed a tree we will be having a make-up session soon. Click here to register.

We had such a fun time at our Harry Potter themed Paint Party last night. And everyone did such a great job that I think I cast a “Painting Spell” on them. LOL! Take a look.
We have another Harry Potter themed party coming up. You can see it here.

Still taking reference photos while on my little vacation. Yesterday we arrived in Williamsburg and had a chance to catch a few shots. Hope to get many more today.

I do love to go places where there are lots of things to see and do and especially when there are great scenes for photos that may serve as reference photos for paintings. Yesterday I spent at day at Chincoteague and Assateague Islands taking LOTS of photos. There was a really neat “Artful Flea” event where many local artist sold their wares at the Farmer’s Market. I saw many nice pieces of art and crafts. My favorite was the decorated Flamingos that were for sale to benefit a local scholarship fund. Really cute and fun. Then off to the lighthouse for photos and a drive around Assateague to take wildlife photos.
