Here is another look (or two) at the Peace Poles.  I finished a couple of samples that are on display outside of The Studio on Main Street.  Take a look and think about what you want yours to look like.  We will have a Paint Party scheduled soon to let you make your own.

Hard at Work Painting

Yesterday we had a great group painting at the Senior Center to benefit Meals on Wheels.  Our Senior Center has a wonderful staff who provide a hot meal for seniors each day as well as a variety of activities for them.

There are  many seniors in our community trying to survive on a small pension check each month.  The Center helps them in so many ways.  And they can use your help.  Donate items…they need food stuffs, clothing, etc.  They even could use knick-knacks that they use for Bingo prizes.  So when you are cleaning out closets and basements this spring consider helping the seniors by boxing up some items for them.  The smallest thing can go a long way to helping someone.  And the staff at the Senior Center would welcome your help.

Mini Mosaic Jewelry

20160220_125006-1 There are some terrific classes happening at The Studio besides art!  This weekend Denise Kupiszewski taught us how to make these beautiful mini mosaic jewelry pendants and earrings.  Fabulous!

12729062_10205970753763054_6272704464969947515_nI love the set that I made.  Denise is offering an “Art & Tea” series so she will be at The Studio each month to offer something fun and new.  Keep an eye on calendar and be sure to join us to create your own fabulous pieces.  Next month we’ll be doing Wire-Wrapped Rings & Earrings and she’ll repeat the Pocket Watch Pendant class.  All of that will be on March 20th.  Check out the calendar here.

best-love-quotes-Dont-be-afraid-of-change-you-may-end-up-losing-something-good-but-you-will-probably-end-up-gaining-something-betterChanges are coming to the “Life of a Daily Painter” Blog.  We’ve been blogging here now for 8 years and it’s time for some tweaking.  Stay tuned.

We’ll still provide photos and features of what we have been painting and creating but we will link it more with The Studio…which is what we have been doing since we opened The Studio a year and a half ago.  We love featuring the painters and students from The Studio and you have said you love seeing what everyone is doing so this will help.

Remember, CHANGE IS GOOD!

Wrap in Thick YarnHere is another option for the Mobius Wrap/Cowl class coming up.  This sample was made using bulky yarn and a loose net style stitch.  The great thing about this wrap pattern is that there are so many options for making it.

Tablecloth 2 CrochetMy friend and fellow artist, Sandra Charles, shared this article with me yesterday.  (You’ll remember Sandra as the one who made the “Cussing Jacket” and the Garden Princess with me.)

The article points out the hot new trend is not going out partying at bars with your friends but rather going out with friends to places like The Studio to learn something new inspired by our Grandparents – Granspiration!  I LOVE IT!  You have known me to talk about how my grandmothers taught me to crochet, to cook, to embroidery and more.  Did I mention that I Love This???!!!!

Crochet Hat Off White with Burg rose Crochet green slippers with rosesHere is how the short article opens.  Take a look. :  The New Trend You And Your Granny Will Love  –  We’re not saying drinking in your local cocktail bar is ‘out’, but now the cool kids are scheduling it around Wednesday night’s jam-making class.  Pottery, jam-making, baking and stitching. No, we’re not talking about Sunday afternoon at your nan’s house, but an evening out with the girls. That’s right, folks, granny hobbies are in – in a big way.”   Click the source link to read the entire article.

11828779_10205119460761261_9001183853342394374_nToday I am giving thanks for all the wonderful things in my life.  There are way to many to list.  Life is GOOD!

But I do want to make a point to say how thankful I am to have Allen, a wonderful partner, who has encouraged me on this adventure as a full-time artist.  His support has meant everything and there is no way I could have been successful without him.  And I am thankful that he loves the “Boys” as I do and comes to walk them when my knee is out.  🙂

And I am especially thankful this year for the wonderful, supportive and creative friends, both old and new, who have supported The Studio and made it a place of fun.  I love being at The Studio and am so, so grateful that you do too.

Many, many thanks on this Thanksgiving Day.
