Rex, a beautiful border collie, is a commission that I did as a Christmas present.  I just got this message on Facebook from Sue, the recipient:  “Thank you so much for doing a painting of my dog Rex (border collie) for my brother as a gift to me.  It is just beautiful!”

I love hearing back from people who have received presents.

Pet Portraits 3 KodakYesterday afternoon we had the Kid’s “Paint Your Own Pet Portrait” Workshop.  It was so much fun!!!!  The kids did superb work on their portraits.  We had dogs, cats, and horses.  They were all so different and all so good!  Great job young artists.  I love seeing the enthusiasm of young painters creating beautiful art.

Many thanks to my good friend and great painter, Linda, who helped with this large group. Couldn’t have done it without your help.

We have an adult workshop today from 4-7.  Let me know if you want to come join us.

This little guy is Oliver.  He belongs to a wonderful friend in Kentucky and he was so adorable I had to paint his portrait.  He is an acrylic on panel measuring 6″x6″.    Could he be any cuter?

Smith Sign Finished 2A few weeks ago I got a request to paint a pet portrait on an outdoor sign.  I don’t generally paint signs but this one was special so I accepted the challenge.  I completed it and delivered it last week and the client was thrilled.  Pet Portraits are one of my favorite things to do.  Smith was a fun one!  I love the expression on his face.

Several months ago Pat came to class excited about this dog she had met recently at her family reunion.  She said it was the prettiest dog she had ever seen.  “It’s pretty as a cow!”, she said.  🙂  That’s high praise from Pat – she loves cows!  Here is the beautiful painting she just completed in art class of this pretty dog.  Great job Pat!

Kids with Kloe Sonjas new kittyOne of the things I love about Facebook is all the terrific photos that my friends post…especially those of their pets.  And I am lucky that my friends are kind enough to give me permission to paint from their photos when I ask.  That happened this week with my friend Sonja and her new kitten Kloe.  She posted this adorable photo of Kloe looking out the window and the kids class painted her yesterday.  GREAT job everyone!  I love it.
