Bye, Bye Blackbird II measures the same as above and is also on display at Delilah’s.

Square Pear II is an acrylic on gallery wrap canvas measuring 6″x6″.   I continued the “Square Pear” series by doing three of these small ones.  (The larger one was posted on Friday.)

Each of these follows the same compositional element of the first but in different views.

This is how the series looks hanging together vertically.  These are available individually for $75 each or the set of three for $195.

Late Autumn is an oil on canvas panel measuring 8″x10″ and is available for $165.  I love the way some trees look at this time of the year when the leaves have left them and you can see all the limbs reaching out.

Most days I spend several hours painting, several hours working on marketing, and several hours teaching.  But sometimes I get to work with art in a different way.

Yesterday I met a young man who is a student at Lord Fairfax Community College who is doing a paper on art galleries.  He visited Delilah’s Art Gallery to gather some information for his paper.  It is always fun to talk to someone about the gallery and about art and how it is made and marketed.  Good luck Jeff with your paper.

Art can be very affordable.  I recently painted about 20 miniatures – small acrylic paintings on canvas paper that measure about 3″x4″ and they are matted in 8″x10 mats ready to frame.  They are available by contacting me directly or you can see them all at Delilah’s at 105 E. Main Street in Front Royal.  They are only $20 each and would make excellent gifts for anyone who loves art.

Here are several examples of the miniature paintings.  The photos show only  part of the matting.  You really should see them as they turned out really great!

The four agreements: a practical guide to personal freedomSome time  back I mentioned that I love to read.  I read several books a week and when I really love one I keep it handy and reread it.  This is one of those books.

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz is one of my all time favorite books.  It is a small, simple book with a really big message.  It is basically a code of conduct for anyone who wants to experience freedom from the crazy stress of day-to-day life and who wants to live with happiness and love in their life.  I LOVE this book.  And I have given it to many relatives and friends.  I hope you will take a look.

To quote Ruiz, The Four Agreements are 1) Be impeccable with your word; 2) Don’t take anything personally; 3) Don’t make assumptions; and 4) Always do your best.  Sounds simple, huh?  But when you really explore the depth of these agreements you find it is not that easy to do but if you work at it, you’ll live a better life and be a better person.

Check out The Four Agreements.  I think you’ll love it too!
